a new loggerhead turtle joins the CestMed care center

A new Loggerhead turtle has joined the CestMed care center hosted at the Seaquarium du Grau-du-Roi.

The Loggerhead turtle, named Mariusarrived at the care center on Tuesday November 5. Weighing 9.2kg, it was captured off the coast of the Camargue, near the Beauduc Lighthouse, approximately 200 meters from the coast and 4 meters deep. “We would like to thank the fisherman who had the right reflexes, in particular by lifting the back of the turtle to allow it to drain the water it had swallowed. Marius is recovering well and is gradually regaining strength at the center. We will keep you informed of its progress! »declares the CestMed team (Center for the Study and Conservation of Mediterranean Marine Turtles).

What is CestMed?
