You will have to avoid the Honoré-Mercier and Papineau-Leblanc bridges, as well as Highway 20, this weekend in the Montreal region. On the municipal network, Pie-IX and Marcel-Laurin boulevards also risk becoming more congested due to occasional obstacles.

This was indicated Thursday by Mobilité Montréal, the committee responsible for coordinating major work in the metropolitan region.
First, once again, the Papineau-Leblanc bridge, which connects Montreal to Laval, will have to be completely closed for the entire weekend. The Pie-IX, Viau and Médéric-Martin bridges may serve as alternative routes for motorists during the weekend.
Further south, the Ministry of Transport will set up contraflow traffic on the Honoré-Mercier bridge from Friday evening until late Saturday morning. Only one lane will therefore be available per direction, which risks heavy traffic for the start of the weekend.
On Highway 20, in Lachine, the entrance from 1D Avenue will be closed from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. Strong episodes of congestion are therefore expected on Saturday and Sunday in the surrounding area. Not far from there, Marcel-Laurin Boulevard will be closed in both directions, between Décarie Boulevard and Saint-Louis Street, all weekend.
In the east, two of the three lanes of Pie-IX Boulevard will be partially closed in a southbound direction, at Gouin Boulevard and the left turn lane towards Henri-Bourassa Boulevard East, all for three nights consecutive Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Not far from Sorel-Tracy, Route 116-East will have to be closed during the nights of Friday and Sunday between exit 9-O, leading to Highway 30-West, and Boulevard Seigneurial. Detours will be in place on the climbs of Promenades and Sabourin.
Two out of four lanes of the Laviolette Bridge, between Trois-Rivières and Bécancour, will be interrupted throughout the weekend. Here again, there will only be one lane per direction. In the capital, the Quebec Bridge will also be closed during the day on Saturday, for the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie.
On the South Shore, during this time, Longueuil residents are invited to note that the entrance from rue Saint-Charles Ouest will be completely closed on boulevard Taschereau to the east, for the duration of the end of week.
Finally, notice to users of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM): the latter will be closed Saturday and Sunday at 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. due to a “systems update”. Bus shuttles will be in place to ensure the connection between Brossard and downtown Montreal during this period.
When returning from the weekend, from June 17 until the fall, segments of the Metropolitan Autoroute will be closed at night in the east or west direction, announced the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility ( MTMD) Wednesday. Partial barriers will also be in place on the weekend.
