Six more will be shipped in July from the General Dynamics Land Systems (GLDS) factory, London North Center MP Peter Fragiskatos said on Wednesday.

According to MP Fragiskatos, the 10 variants of ambulance-type armored vehicles should first arrive in Germany, where Ukrainian soldiers will be trained in their use.

They should then be deployed to Ukraine by the fall to help evacuate soldiers injured in combat zones, he said.

After that, 40 more vehicles, the types of which are not yet known, will follow. The shipment schedule has not been specified.

Colonel Andrii Shmilyk, Ukraine’s military attaché to Canada, was present at the event, but did not speak.

The 50 armored vehicles, at a total cost of $500 million, are in addition to the 39 military vehicles of General Dynamics Land SystemsGDLS delivered to Ukraine in 2022.

The cost of each vehicle was not specified. A spokesperson for General Dynamics Land SystemsGDLS indicated that this would depend on the operational requirements of each vehicle, as they are tailored to the demands of the Ukrainian army.
