Things are moving at France Inter. Not yet another twist in the Guillaume Meurice affair. This time the management of France’s leading radio station returns to its primary job: programs. First decision made for next season, the end of “So far so good”, its show scheduled from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Initially hosted by a female trio composed of Marie Misset, Marine Baousson and Maïa Mazaurette, this daily lost the columnist from “Quotidien” (TMC) in January. A departure attributed at the time to a discrepancy between the mission initially set for the journalist specializing in intimate issues and the evolution of the show’s conductor. “Maïa found herself in the role of interviewer even though she had come to do chronicles and writing work,” explained the station management.

Endowed with the difficult task of making people forget “It’s us again!” », Charline Vanhoenacker’s meeting, previously broadcast in the box, “So far so good” had difficulty meeting the challenge. With 564,000 curious people ready to discover it between September and October 2023, the show had almost 200,000 fewer listeners than “the Belgian gang”. At the start of the year (January-March), it still had 230,000 fans behind them.

A new humor and news program

A result which convinced management to stop the costs. At the start of the next school year, France Inter will entrust the role to Matthieu Noël. Already at the head of “Zoom Zoom Zen” from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., an appointment that he keeps, the comedian will gain an additional daily hour each day. From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., he will host a new humor and current affairs program with signatures from the comedy scene.

In “Zoom Zoom Zen”, the one who will continue to officiate Inter’s morning show next season suggests focusing on a word or a social notion with a guest. In addition to his personal interventions with a humorous connotation, Matthieu Noël regularly hosts comic posts by Yann Marguet, also visible in “Quotidien” on TMC, Benjamin Tranié, Rosa Bursztein or Pierre Thevenoux. The latter has already made it known that he is handing in his apron, in solidarity with Guillaume Meurice, fired by Radio France at the start of the week. Contacted, France Inter does not wish to comment.
