The indefinite strike called by the CGT (third union) of the Michelin group was little followed this Thursday by employees of the Clermont-Ferrand sites (Puy-de-Dôme), where the head office of the tire manufacturer is located. , on the eve of a rally organized by the inter-union. “We called for an indefinite strike at the request of certain employees to protest against the closure of the factories in Vannes (Morbihan) and Cholet (Maine-et-Loire),” declared Romain Baciak, central union delegate of the CGT, without be able to quantify the number of strikers. Management for its part did not count any strikers in the group, particularly on its Clermont sites which employ 9,000 people, mainly in the tertiary sector.
