the connection from Haute- to the South is being prepared

From December 15, a regional balance train will make a daily round trip between and , with a stop at Chalindrey. Compensation for the disappearance of the TGV stop. The Region is reorganizing certain TER services to connect them.

This is the culmination of a case which has been controversial. Because behind the opening of a regular line between Nancy and Lyon with a daily round trip, it is the compensation for the disappearance of the TGV stops at Chalindrey station for the South of which is implicit.

And this is all the more important to take into consideration as initially this territorial balance train (TET) was not planned to stop at Chalindrey. Once again, it was a question of reversal, a technical operation at Chalindrey station. A maneuver which requires time and which was not compatible with the TET timetable.

Since then, the subject has no longer been one. Especially since the Grand Est Region made Régiolis-type trains available to the State which provided cross-border connections in Alsace. With this type of train, the driver just has to change places. It is no longer up to the machine to maneuver.

A TER extended from to Chalindrey

On December 15, this TET will come into operation. And as for the TGV stop, the Grand Est Region has reviewed certain TER services in order to direct as many travelers as possible to this new service.

“A TER running -Chaumont will be extended to Culmont-Chalindrey,” announces Thibaud Philipps, vice-president in charge of mobility at the Grand Est Region. This TER will arrive at Culmont station at 8:50 a.m. The connection to Lyon will be at 9:20 a.m.

The TET Nancy-Lyon will stop at Culmont-Chalindrey from December 15.

Likewise, a TER traveling from Nancy to will have its schedules brought forward to correspond with the TET. “It is easier to extend existing trains,” points out Thibaud Philipps.

In this same context, discussions were carried out with the PETR of Pays de Langres to organize transport on demand (TAD) to Culmont-Chalindrey station to take the TER Nancy-Lyon. “The objective is to serve Culmont and allow as many people as possible to benefit from this service,” points out Thibaud Philipps.
