Anger brews among farmers for several weeks, a few months after a huge national mobilization which saw the main roads of the country blocked. This time, the Rural Coordination of Gers calls for stop food freight… A year ago, it started with panels being turned over in the Tarn. And then the demonstrations multiplied throughout France. A few months after a relative lull, here we go again. In recent weeks, actions have multiplied in Gers, Gard, Tarn, Ariège, Aveyron… We are still turning over the town entrance signs, removing them, moving them, covering them… Farmers also attack radars.
A big meeting in Auch on November 19
FDSEA, JA and Rural Coordination call on their troops to always go a little further. What will be the next step? The Gers Rural Coordination, whose leader, Lionel Candelon, has just been elected as regional head of the union, has clarified its intentions.
“We call on all Gers farmers to update their farms, finish sowing and mobilize in Auch on Tuesday, November 19,” explains the union. For what ? “To ask for a final boost from the government.” What if nothing moves? “We will go further and over time”, warns Rural Coordination.
Comment : by blocking food freight from November 20 “in order to give the government a taste of what our country will be like tomorrow without farmers,” explains Lionel Candelon.
