What mattress does your baby sleep on? Depending on the answer, you may need to consider a repair or a new purchase. Indeed, folding mattresses for children from the Candide brand were the subject of a national recall this Thursday, November 7, 2024 because they present a risk of suffocation.
The sheet published on the official Rappel Conso website concerns folding fiber mattresses which were sold in numerous childcare and children's clothing stores throughout France. Marketing began on 1is June 2023 and ended on October 16, 2024.
No refund but repair
The mattress was packaged in a suitcase. The recalled lots all have barcode number 3275055956009 and reference 595600 on the label. Rappel Conso explains that on these mattresses, “a hollow may form in the filling”causing a risk of suffocation for the child.
It is therefore strongly recommended that you no longer use these mattresses at all. Customers can contact Candide's consumer service on 02 41 31 65 93 or by e-mail at [email protected]. No reimbursement procedure is provided but repair may be offered. The recall will end on April 30, 2025.
