The dissolution of the National Assembly in France by the president Emmanuel Macron could have serious consequences on the Tour de France. This dissolution indeed leads to new legislative elections, in two rounds, and the President called these elections for very soon: June 30 and July 7. If thee Tour de France, whose Grand Départ takes place on June 29 in Florence, will still be in Italy when the first round of these elections takes place, however this will not be the case during the second round. Indeed, on July 7 the 9th stage will take place, with a start and finish in the city of Troyes.

Nationwide elections will require a considerable effort from the country’s gendarmerie and security services to ensure everything runs as smoothly and safely as possible.
