Criminal Court

Houses targeted at “head shots” after the impromptu purchase of a crowbar in a DIY store. Doors forced open while the occupants are present. In many ways, the break-ins committed by Si Ahmed and Isaac are like poker moves.

A lack
preparation
and caution

The two men are the only ones to appear from the defendant's box, Wednesday November 6, 2024. On the other side of the glass wall, three of their accomplices (1) are tried with them for a litany of thefts and attempted thefts in Indre-et- and .

Their targets? Luxury cars. “How did you do your scouting? » insists President Gerot. “I stopped like this, assure Yes Ahmed. But hey, it’s true that I wasn’t targeting HLMs. »

On August 26, 2022, the group of young criminals seized an Audi A6 and a Porsche Panamera from a private individual in Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire – vehicles whose value flirted with €70,000 and €110,000 respectively.

Two days later, Si Ahmed was confronted with a traffic stop in Joué-lès-Tours, while driving a stolen Renault Mégane. After hitting one of the police vehicles while fleeing, he abandoned the sedan. The papillary traces taken from the inside will allow investigators to identify it.

A frenzy of theft

The young man gets wind of the car being impounded. The next day, he sets out to collect it with accomplices – they leave with the Renault Mégane and two motorcycles. Emboldened by its success, they returned there once again, on September 3, to try and unsuccessfully steal an additional two-wheeler.

Between August 26 and October 5, 2022, the team traveled across the department.

Despite other aborted nocturnal excursions, the team is launched into a series of frenzied flights. A Mégane RS, a Jaguar and a BMW will still be stolen between September 8 and October 5.

Aged 19 to 21, they were unaware that the Renault Mégane used during their wanderings had been marked by investigators. Physical surveillance and telephone interceptions quickly completed their investigations.

The careless use of bank cards at toll gates or gas stations and the exploitation of surveillance cameras further confuse them. Most of them will be arrested in mid-October 2022.

At the hearing on November 6, 2024, the defendants' explanations echo their amateurism: “We weren’t preparing anything. Cars were stolen to resell them. It was easy money. » However, Si Ahmed explains that he sold the BMW… for €700. “Hell of a deal”reacts the president. “I was just looking to make some quick money”replies the person concerned.

A desire for transparency

The one that everything points to as the ” brain “ of the gang has the merit of frankness, like his co-defendant in the box. A “truth approach” welcomed by the court, while their state of legal recidivism means they could face up to twenty years of imprisonment.

The six defendants should be decided on their fate, Thursday, at the end of the day, at the end of the pleadings and the requisitions of the public prosecutor.

(1) The sixth defendant must answer for concealment of theft.
