The depression Caetano crossed Indre-et-Loire causing damage this Thursdaymainly in the Chinon and Loches sectors. Twenty-nine trees were felled in the department, around ten electrical wires fell to the ground. As a result, 3,800 homes were without electricity yesterday at 6 p.m. according to Enedis. Officers worked most of the night to restore power to as many residents as possible.
In Chinon, the tennis bubble which allows certain courts to be covered was torn away by gusts of wind and the courts are therefore unusable for an indefinite period.
Watch out for ice this Friday morning on the department's roads
Department officers went out to treat the roads. Their 13 patrol vehicles crisscross the main departmental roads between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. to secure them. The plan “winter viability” was triggered this Thursday, while usually, it is only triggered from December 2 in Indre-et-Loire.
