No gas leak

Firefighters were able to confirm that it was not a gas leak and that no gas was detected in the installations.

“Knowing that the sorting center takes care of the management of the blue bin, and therefore of very diverse materials, Enviro Connexions does not at this time rule out the possibility that the situation is linked to a product that comes from a bin recycling,” says Ms. Hallé, in a press release.

The Granby Sorting Center resumed operations around 1 p.m. with official authorization from the Granby Fire Safety Department and the CNESST.

No Source of dangerous contaminants has been identified in the establishment.
