On the evening of October 30, police officers in Douai (North) received information that a prosecutor from the Douai courthouse named Frédéric was the target of a potential “violent action”. Thus, Frédéric Fourtoy, public prosecutor at the Douai judicial court, and Frédéric Fèvre, general prosecutor at the Douai court of appeal, were both the subject of police protection. According to The Worldtheir homes would have been the subject of “spottings” suspects “before, perhaps, taking action”. Police officers dispatched to the scene noticed at least two suspicious vehicles.
Following this maneuver, the police decided to act. They stopped a first vehicle, in which a certain Hussein H., 41 years old, unknown in the criminal record file, was arrested. The other vehicle fled, but was spotted and stopped in Roubaix (North). Three other individuals were arrested: Samir A., 28 years old, Abdelkader F., 36 years old, and Yacine D., 25 years old. All three men are known for several misdeeds: driving without a license, armed robbery, use of firearms and possession of narcotics. If the quartet indicated that they were homeless, the police identified several drop-off points. During the searches, around thirty cartridges were discovered, as many mobile phones, but also 14,000 euros in cash.
