Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron's family is growing. They have just welcomed two new dogs. The presidential couple already owned Nemo, a black labrador adopted from a shelter in Yvelines after the election of Emmanuel Macron to the Elysée in 2017.
Nemo will have company with two Tazi greyhounds. They were offered to the Macron couple by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokaïev, during his trip a year ago.
The two greyhounds were called Jeanne and Jules, indicates Emmanuel Macron on TikTok where he shared a video in the company of the two dogs and the president of Kazakhstan. “A good trio with Nemo!” comments the Head of State.
@emmanuelmacron I present to you Jeanne and Jules, two Tazi greyhounds given a year ago by President Tokayev during my state visit to Kazakhstan. A good trio with Némo!

These dogs given as gifts are “the symbol of warm friendship”, writes on X the assistant to the President of Kazakhstan for external affairs Erzhan Kazykhan.
All the Presidents of the Republic under the Fifth Republic were accompanied by a dog during their mandate at the Elysée: the female labrador Philae for François Hollande, the female labrador Clara and the chihuahua Dumbledore for Nicolas Sarkozy, the male labrador Ducon ( yes, yes…) for Jacques Chirac, the female Baltic Labrador for François Mitterrand or the female Labrador Samba and the male Weimaraner Jugurtha for Valéry Giscard d'Estaing.
