Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier. Three days to tour the Nièvre. There were six of them who set off on Friday May 24 to tour the Nièvre, a journey of nearly 400 km by bike. The rain did not discourage the members of the Cyclo Club Saint-Pierrois.

Alain Blanchet, Dominique Sallé, Nicolas Meunier, Didier Laurent, Philippe Fontgarnand and Christian Bordes were equipped accordingly to face the first stage which took them to Larochemillay, 110 km further.

After a comforting night in a lodge, the next day did not look good. Unfavorable weather and a positive altitude difference of 2,300 m were planned for the day.

Sheltered

Fortunately, Pascal Tisseron, the president of the club and the group’s motorist guide, took care of the logistics. Thanks to him, a shelter was discovered and lent by the hunters of Saint-Brisson, so that cyclists could rest and eat in the shelter.

However, some clearings brightened up Saturday’s hike. The day ended in Villiers-sur-Yonne. The route of the last stage brought the group of friends back to Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier on Sunday, after around eight hours of driving.

Even if the weather was not favorable, it was a great moment of shared effort on the beautiful roads of the Morvan.
