The members of the office of the twinning committee between Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Neustadt bei Coburg met on October 7 to take stock of the current actions and the program for the year 2025.

“We have already set up a visit for 10 middle school students from the Sainte-Catherine institution who will fly to Neustadt from November 27 to December 4, as part of the exchange with their comrades from the Arnold Gymnasium. In order to support them in this dynamic and encourage this type of exchange between our 2 cities, the office has decided to grant a participation” explains Christelle Thellier, president of the twinning committee.

And to continue. “2025 will begin with our traditional tea dance on January 12 in the Michel-Cazassus room in Soubirous. A friendly moment that all our members and supporters are looking forward to.”

Among the projects being studied, a trip to Neustadt to take part in one of the twin town's emblematic events: the doll election in May. Participation in the Villeneuve-sur-Lot Park Festival in June, or the Children's Festival which takes place in mid-July are also being studied.

“Conversely, in the event that our friends from Neustadt would like to visit us later this year, we will be able to welcome them warmly and make their stay as pleasant as possible. We will contact them soon to find out about their plans. We could also invite some athletes to come and take part in the Prune Corrida.

All this leads to certain questions. “We would like to contact sports, cultural or school associations in order to invite them to come and join us and perhaps lead to the organization of exchanges between our two cities and strengthen our relations” adds committee president Christelle Thellier. “Despite the unwavering commitment and unfailing motivation of the board members and our fellow members, the committee needs “new blood” to take over from our elders in the years to come and maintain the bond that unites us to Neustadt. bei Coburg for almost 50 years”.
