“Toll = plunder”. On this first weekend of November 2024, a somewhat special decoration adorned the roundabout Lully, located on the D903.

Set up by the local committee of Earth uprisings from Geneva, this false toll aims to denounce the A412 project, which should link Machilly to Thonon-les-Bains.

“The A412 will never happen! »

In a press release published on the Renversé site, the environmentalist collective justifies its action and its positions: “In what world is it possible to still develop high-speed roads? This rampant artificialization is the symbol of an outdated capitalist system which is accelerating in its race towards catastrophe. And that takes us with it. »

In addition to this false toll, a banner where we find the words “the A412 will not be built, Eiffage get out!” » hangs on a wall nearby. They justify this criticism of the industrial group in the press release: “But that is not all, it is the giant Eiffage which has obtained the construction concession which will allow it to benefit from the tolls which are announced at an exorbitant price. Taking advantage of ultra-favorable conditions granted to highway builders by the French state since 2015, Eiffage shareholders are appropriating wealth to the detriment of the population. »

According to Bleu, five appeals filed by activists from ACPAT (the Association for Consultation and Proposal for Development and Transport) were rejected by the Council of State. But the opponents will continue the fight.
