The prize giving ceremony for the most beautiful tree photography competition took place at the media library on Saturday November 23. Marie-Pierre Begards, the media library, led this initiative, “a first” successful in terms of the number of participants and in the search for curious local and surrounding trees.

This competition concerned three categories: children, adults and communities. The leisure reception participated well and the rewards will be presented to them next Wednesday on site. The jury made up of Chantal Mondenx and Nadine Laviole had a hard time deciding between the competitors except among the children, since only one kid had brought a photo of his beautiful tree. Mario therefore received the two prizes allocated to each winner: the jury prize and the public prize, represented by two beautiful books on trees.

Suddenly, under the branches…

On the adult side, around fifteen photos displayed the tree in all its forms, discovered in the forest, on the edge of Lake Arjuzanx or on a local airial, or even elsewhere, from the magnificent and imposing specimen by the antlers to the one tortured by the prevailing westerly winds, and even the one that storm Klaus tore apart in 2009 and which seems to have been crying ever since. The winner, again, of the double prize is Claudia Sommer, digital advisor of the Departmental Council who comes to the media library by appointment. Seduced by this idea, Claudia wanted to participate in this competition open to all.

Finally, to add a nice touch of surprise to the event, Marie-Pierre presented “a photo for the best bodywork prize” out of competition. Guess the cliché? Under a jumble of fallen chestnut tree branches, like that, one fine day last October, we can barely see a few scraps of black sheet metal: it was the mayor's vehicle, who said: “the first time this m It happened six years ago. Statistically, it only happens once in 800,000! “. And Laurent Civel concludes: “Thank you for this happy initiative which could become a tradition: why not the Rion of Trees? »
