The Lot named 3rd favorite department of the French

The Lot has just won the bronze medal for the French's favorite departments. He is the only one in the Occitanie region to have won an award.

It is a reward of which he is not a little proud. THE Lot was named the third favorite department of the Frenchbehind Haute-Marne in the Grand Est region and Ain in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes which came at the top of the ranking. And it was the audience that established this one. Everyone could actually vote online throughout the summer for the department of their choice. He therefore awarded the bronze medal to Lot.

This distinction was materialized by a prize awarded to Jean-Pierre Jammes, vice-president of the Department in charge of tourism and sport, by the Journal des Départements and Mon Avis Citoyen during the 2024 “Golden D” ceremony this Friday October 11 in Marseille. And, according to the community, “this recognition is not surprising” at least from a tourism point of view.

The Lot department, “the only one in Occitanie to be awarded”

Indeed, for the vice-president of the Department, this attractiveness of the Lot can be explained for several reasons, starting with its “quality of life, its preserved natural setting, its history and its centuries-old heritage which are so many riches and assets”.

“This award also testifies to the dynamism which, for three years, has meant that the Lot has brought in two new families per week, has an unemployment rate lower than the national average thanks to its industry and its services and has been able to take the turn towards modernity in becoming the tenth department in France best equipped with optical fiber,” explains Jean-Pierre Jammes, who does not fail to emphasize that the Lot department is the “only one in Occitanie to be awarded an award”.
