Thirteen years after the Tour de France passed through Rouen, the Metropolis will welcome a new arrival during the 4th stage. The 112th edition will connect Amiens to Rouen crossing the territory of the loops of the Seine and its legendary coasts (the Jacques Anquetil and Bonsecours coasts as well as the Saint-Hilaire ramp). The route will stop in Rouen, the arrival city, before leaving Caen (Calvados) the next day. It is a real distinction for the Metropolis to host the Tour de France, the most followed cycling race in the world and the third global sporting event, after the Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup.
For their part, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, mayor of Rouen and President of the Rouen Normandy Métropole, Sarah Vauzelle, deputy mayor in charge of Sport, Youth and Student Life and David Lamiray, Vice-President of the Rouen Métropole Normandie in charge of Sport welcomed this move.
« For its 112th edition, the Tour de France will pass through our metropolis on July 8 and Rouen will be the arrival city! After the Olympic and Paralympic Flame and the Solitaire du Figaro, residents will be able to experience this emblematic sporting and popular event with friends and family. Rouen and its metropolis, land of sport for all: this is our vision and our priority. »
