A Cantal farmer was sentenced to ten years of criminal imprisonment by the Cantal Assize Court for having raped, for twenty years, his brother-in-law who helped him on the farm.
Accused of raping his brother-in-law, a family caregiver on his farm, between 1992 and 2012, a 62-year-old farmer was sentenced to 10 years of criminal imprisonment. He was immediately incarcerated and has ten days to appeal.
Twelve years of criminal imprisonment required against the Cantalian farmer accused of raping his brother-in-law
The facts were denounced in 2017 by a man then aged 42. He had explained to the gendarmes that he had to perform fellatio on his brother-in-law, a farmer from the Cantal Châtaigneraie. The victim was fed, housed and paid laundry in exchange for his work on the farm.
The jurors retained moral constraint, the farmer having influence over the victim, being the head of the farm and hosting him. The forty-year-old finally escaped from the farm, in the middle of the night, in 2012, after 20 years of rape.
