2024 European elections, here we go. In mainland France, they take place this Sunday, June 9, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or even 7:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. in very large cities. At noon, the participation figures were announced as being up very slightly or very slightly down depending on the department compared to 2019.
The European elections take place this Sunday June 9, 2024 (with regard to mainland France and certain overseas territories in the western hemisphere). There are 38 lists that are present to hope to win part of the 81 French seats in the European Parliament, officially based in Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin).
The European Union (EU) is present in the everyday lives of its more than 447 million citizens, particularly through investments in infrastructure. One of the issues this year is the vote of young people, considered more often undecided or abstaining.
There are 38 lists participating in the 2024 European elections, their ballots are presented here in a polling station in Reims.

At noon, the prefectures communicated the participation figures:
- Ardennes: 18.40% participation (15.30% in 2019)
- Aube: 17.65% participation (21.48% in 2019)
- Marne: 20.26% participation (21.99% in 2019)
- Haute-Marne: 21.48% participation (19.13% in 2019)
The Ardennes and Haute-Marne are up very slightly, and Aube and Marne are down very slightly. Taken together, the four departments of the Champagne-Ardenne region give an average participation of 19.45% for midday in 2024 (departments visible on the map below).
At the national level, participation is up very slightly: 19.81% at noon compared to 19.26% during the 2019 European elections.
