It’s easier when you have two hats to “navigate” between two poles. This is the case of Jacky Dibois, president for more than thirty years of the automobile association Les Ecuries du Haut Monclar and volunteer at the conservatory for the preservation of old firefighter vehicles.

Saturday June 8, he organized his 3e map rally, untimed, just on points, with two categories, beginners and experienced, in collaboration with other volunteers from the conservatory. 36 crews bringing together all vehicles, all brands, all ages, from the oldest, Louis Dotta’s 403, to the most recent, set off from Place de la Mairie in Monclar for a journey to Temple-sur-Lot , passing through Sermet-Castelmoron for an arrival point at the conservatory.

Dream

Each crew had received a road map and had to find letters and numbers along the route. Dominique Villeneuve, owner of the 1974 Alpine Renauld 1 300 Berlinette, says: “I’ve been doing rallies for twenty years. This is the first time that something unexpected has happened to me, my fault: a lack of fuel… But the Alpine Renauld Berlinette remains the most beautiful car in the world, world rally champion in 1974, we don’t never did anything better. I bought it from a friend who was going around the world by boat in 1999 and I have never regretted it. »

Others, like Christian Dumont, have fulfilled their 20-year-old dream: having an Alpine Renauld. This has been done since 2019. Today Christian is participating in his second rally. When all the crews arrived, it was time for a meal prepared by the wives of the association and the cooks of the conservatory, without forgetting the men who turn the wild boars on the spit who delighted the 120 guests.
