Around 7:30 a.m., Saturday June 8, 2024A because its ceilinged in the tunnel of the town of Chef-du-Pont (delegated municipality of Sainte-Mère-Église, Manche), rue de la Libération.


The vehicle was carrying 32 people, including 31 US military, at the American football match between the 82e and the 101e Airborne, scheduled between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., in Chef-du-Pont.

Four injured

The Manche Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS 50) indicates that four people are slightly injured : the driver, a 55-year-old Kosovar man, and three passengers, American men aged 24, 27, and 57.

All four victims were evacuated to Cherbourg hospital.

It often happens that drivers are trapped with this work on the Cherbourg – Caen railway line, a work which was not impacted after an assessment by an SNCF technician.
