Jean-Louis Dugravot will become president of the Ligue Grand Est on June 29

After 28 years of good and loyal service to the departmental committee, including fifteen as president, Jean-Louis Dugravot will sail towards new horizons. On June 29, he will become president of the Grand Est League, with great memories and plans for the future.

daily jhm: What is your feeling, coming out of this general meeting, which you chaired for the last time?

Jean-Louis Dugravot (future president of the Ligue Grand Est): “I keep the feeling of duty accomplished! At school, my assessments said “serious student, can do better”. I was serious, I am convinced of it, and I think I could have done better. But I still remember that we have all progressed over the years and that is what matters most to me. »

jhm daily: After almost thirty years, could you tell us what was your fondest memory, as president of the departmental committee?

J.-L. Dugravot : “I have accumulated a lot. But my greatest joy is recent: that of having seen Haut-Marnais shine in the biggest national competitions in recent years! Kader Rahim, referee from Saint-Dizier, who was 18 when I arrived, Lilou Pintat and Tanguy Thomas as professional players, the Aurore Pichery-Emilie Rico duo who refereed a French Cup final… I saw them all grow up since I took office. Without forgetting the next generation that is coming! »

Jean-Louis Dugravot wants to continue to “develop this sport”

daily jhm: What projects will you implement, once president of the Grand Est League?

J.-L. Dugravot : “It will be in a way a continuation of what I have done until now: I want to continue to develop this sport, on a regional scale, to work on a good organization of the championships, in order to be the most efficient possible in the detection of young people, whether players or referees. We will all have to develop together and we will need to work more simply. »

daily jhm: Even if there will be no bias on your part, we imagine that Haute-Marne will benefit from having one of its natives as president of the Regional League.

J.-L. Dugravot : “This will indeed be a plus for the region, especially since I will not be the only Haut-Marnais on the board of directors of the League. There will be four of us, which will be a great first (marketing committee, disciplinary committee among others). »

daily jhm: With the Paris Games, can we expect a big takeoff of licenses in the region, as is already the case at the moment?

J.-L. Dugravot: “I hope so anyway!” The effect of the Olympic Games will inevitably be felt. Now, it remains to be seen in what proportions: clubs, including the smallest, must also be able to accommodate them within their means. »

Transfer of power between Jean-Louis Dugravot and Nicolas Georges

The general assembly of the Haute-Marne committee was almost like the others, Saturday June 8, in Montier-en-Der. The clubs, including Chaumont, Langres, Chevillon/Pont-Varin, Chalindrey, Montier of course, Val-de-Meuse, among others, were brought together to witness the change of presidency. Emmanuel Préfot, the president of the Dervois club, himself welcomed the audience.

Jean-Louis Dugravot (read interview elsewhere) gave way to Nicolas Georges, at the end of the elective general assembly. This one, “a little stressed”, already knows what his missions will be.

“We will have a lot of things to work on: beach handball, handball, the development of women’s teams…Together, I am sure, we will do great things,” he announces.

In his final moral report, Jean-Louis Dugravot, however, deplored the fact that there were no longer any teams at the national level. But the rise of Chevillon/Pont-Varin in the men’s Prenational, as well as the superb courses of the U18 men of Chaumont and the U15 of Froncles, represent great celebrations.

The budget is balanced: the Haute-Marne committee shows a surplus of 850 euros, on the 132,194 euros in charges. Delphine Guerelle, the treasurer, specifies that a provision of 8,000 euros has been kept, in order to finance the presence of two apprentices.

The feminization of Haut-Marne handball remains the benchmark for the entire Grand Est sector: female licenses reach 42%. To build on this push, the general assembly received Marie-Albert Duffait, the president of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté League. “With the Euros and the Worlds, licenses at the national level are breaking all records,” he smiles. “There are more than 591,000 licensees in France. The Paris Games could well accelerate this trend, including in Haute-Marne. » The figures can be consulted on the Handball Observatory.

This development of handball mainly involves reaching out to young people. Maurine Guerelle, member of the committee, also indicated, in her activity report, that “schools were very demanding of handball interventions in view of next season, particularly in primary schools. » Another good reason to have extended the handball section of the Bouchardon high school in Chaumont.

Finally, according to the technical activity report by Dimitri Vignol, “several Haut-Marnais, from Generation 2010, took part in the tournaments for accession to the Committee Trophies, with Aube, under the Champagne Sud appellation. The results fell short of expectations, but they looked good. »

Jérémy Pottiez, another technical advisor to the committee, is doing a good job of detecting young people (hence the inter-committee tournaments). This allowed young Fronclois Alix Dugravot to join the Pôle Espoirs de Reims.

In short, handball is enjoying happy days in Haute-Marne. And the major changes, both in the committee and in the League, bring great projects for the coming season.
