Gard: Firefighters rescue a hunting dog stuck for 24 hours in a rock cavity

A rock cavity several meters deep

Saturday, November 2, a hunter who was taking part in a hunt, in the territory of the commune of Générargues, noticed that one of his dogs was missing. Thanks to the animal's GPS collar, its owner was able to approach the area where the signal came from, which remained fixed. Hearing barking underfoot, the man realized that the animal had fallen into a rock cavity several meters deep. After many efforts to extract the animal, the hunter, seeing night coming, had to resolve to abandon it for the night.

Intervention of the fire brigade animal unit

The next morning, the unfortunate Nemrod contacted the animal unit of the firefighters who were able to intervene in the following hours. Thanks in particular to an endoscopic camera, the rescuers were able to precisely locate the animal. A firefighter then slipped into the narrow cavity and was able to help the brave dog escape. The animal was able to find its master after 24 hours spent in this hole. A big congratulations to the animal unit of the Gard firefighters who demonstrated all their professionalism and dedication as you will be able to discover in these images:
