On the night of Sunday November 3 to Monday November 4, a firearms attack in an apartment in Fort-de-France killed a 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman. Four other people, including two young children, were injured.
“Members of the same family were victims of gunfire in their home”the Fort-de-France prosecutor’s office said at the end of the day on Monday. According to the first elements of the investigation, four people, arriving on site on a scooter around 10 p.m., burst into an apartment in the Caribbean residence and opened fire on the occupants before fleeing.
The 15-year-old boy died on the spot and the young woman was hospitalized, according to the prosecution and police sources from Agence France Presse. According to the police source, a four-year-old child and a nine-month-old infant are among the injured. A woman was found unhurt.
Twenty investigators are mobilized as part of this open investigation into murders and attempted murders by an organized gang and monitored by the prosecutor's office of the specialized interregional jurisdiction (Jirs) of Fort-de-France, indicated the prosecutor's office.
