Since the beginning of October, the public has discovered a completely transformed interior at the Maurice-Genevoix media library in Eaubonne (Val-d'Oise): new furniture, modification of layouts and circulation, enhancement of the different spaces.
These modernization works thus offer more light, particularly in the entrance hall and in all the different spaces.
Energy performance
The single-glazed wooden joinery on the main facade was replaced to improve their energy performance while ensuring better summer and winter comfort.
Four new spaces have been designed for a modern and friendly user experience. Learning: the study room has been redesigned for more seats and collective work boxes have been installed in order to preserve quiet spaces. The meeting: the reception has been redesigned with the creation of a catering area, the youth area is now in the spotlight to welcome families, reading on site and strolling. The activity: work to promote the image and sound collections was carried out by creating a music listening space and a viewing space. Inspiration: a new scenography has been designed for the entertainment room for a better user experience.
The Maurice-Genevoix media library is the head of the Val Parisis network. It is made up of a team of fifteen librarians, 1,850 m² of spaces open to the public on a platform and three outdoor patios, 116,000 borrowable documents (books, CDs and DVDs, press and magazines). The media library is open from Tuesday to Sunday. It offers 40 hours of weekly opening.
