Women's French Cup (4th round). Lannion FC (R2) – Quimper-Kerfeunteun (R1): 0-1
Faced with a solid team from Quimper-Kerfeunteun who were hierarchically superior, the Lannionnais did not hesitate to create several good opportunities to open the score, at the end of a very pleasant and very open meeting, between two teams who played offense. The first opportunity of the match was to the credit of the Lannionnaise, but Le Saint, ideally placed, lost his duel with Minihy, the Quimper-Kerfeunteun goalkeeper (25'). The Finisteres were also threatening, following a poor recovery from the Lannion defense, Floch saw his shot stopped by Mian (28'). The match was very open. Minihy then diverted Galry's shot onto the post (33'). Just before the break, Gaudriaud, ideally placed in the Lannion area, scored his shot (42'). In the second half the game was still just as enjoyable.
At the conclusion of a great collective action, Fily with great composure scored the only goal of the match (61'). At the end of the match Lannion pushed to come back into the score but couldn't do it. “We have to remember the victory against a good R2 team, they could have punished us, but our goalkeeper did the job. Today we are going to retain the victory, even if the manner was not there,” underlined David Ferri, the coach of Quimper-Kerfeunteun. “The girls had a good match, we had to deal with injuries, before and during the match. This shows us the intensity of the level above. We had the opportunities to open the score, it's a shame, because there was a way to get through this round,” said Raphaël Eugster, Lannion's coach.
