French Track Championships Avenir: Rouat – Bihan, a duo of golden Bretons

Since the start of the French Avenir Track Championships, Doloise Zoé Bihan (Team Pays de Dinan/Pôle ) and Jessica Rouat (Moëlan CC/Pôle Bretagne), have been stacking medals on the track at the Vélodrome de Bretagne in Loudéac. For the first, there are simply three French championship titles which were gleaned in individual pursuit, in the omnium and in the points race, without forgetting the silver in the scratch (!). For the second, the harvest is also good with silver in the individual pursuit, silver in the scratch and in the team speed with… Zoé Bihan!

But the pair gave everything, snatching victory and the title of French champions, ahead of Pauline Jaffré (UC Inguiniel) and Iléna Simon (Cyclisme Langueux), the second team fielded by the team.

“My legs were itchy, it was physically hard, but Jessica, who fell at the start of the competition, really forced her injuries. I had to secure this tricolor jersey for her. We missed out together in the team sprint, I knew that winning a title was close to his heart. On the last sprint, I told myself that I had no right to fail,” confided Zoé Bihan, barely standing on her legs and now quadruple French champion.

“I’m damaged everywhere”

These “France” finished, it is time to rest for the two Breton women who have both left feathers. “For me the week was complicated,” admitted Jessica Rouat. Between falls, poor recovery, aches. I'm damaged everywhere. It's time to take some rest. »

Ditto for Zoé Bihan. “I can't take it anymore, I've been on the bike for a long time. This year I only cut two weeks. I can't wait to rest this winter, she admitted before adding: and behind that, I will surely continue with training courses and selections for the French team, Nations Cups and we will concentrate on the years junior, on the road and on the track…”
