The couple, whose vehicle was immobilized, nevertheless agreed to pose with the police.

A Halloween celebration that was cut short. Thursday, a Dutch couple dressed as Batman and Catwoman were arrested near Châtelet-sur-Sormonne (Ardennes) in a Porsche after being flashed at 203km/h on the 304 motorway, reports L'Ardennais.

An unusual meeting for the Ardennes gendarmes who did not fail to joke: “On this Halloween day, our operator organized a meeting between superheroes, and it is however not always the one we believes I identify,” wrote the gendarmerie in a Facebook publication. And added: “The fact remains that Batman and Catwoman had to call on Alfred Pennyworth, their butler, to continue their journey. In fact, the Batmobile headed towards the pound following a serious speed violation” .

“Our superheroes took it very well”

The couple seems to have taken the situation without hard feelings, to the point of agreeing to pose. The publication is accompanied by photos where we see in particular the masked driver on board his vehicle approaching the tow truck to be taken to the impound.

“Our super heroes took it very well and took part in the photo game with our super hero/major of a man…”, confirms the gendarmerie. “The check went very well. (…) The driver admitted that he was driving too fast,” says Captain Rufin, commander of the departmental road safety squadron, to the Ardennes.

In addition to immobilizing the vehicle, the couple had to pay 750 euros for the deposit. The driver also had his license confiscated for at least 72 hours. He faces a fine of up to 1,500 euros and a ban on driving in for three years.
