Of November 8 to 11, 2024 the Made in France show will be held in Paris. A show which brings together a thousand exhibitors, craftsmen, producers, independents, who will experience the French economy. Among them, the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Orne decided to select two artisans per department to invite them to the show.
In Orne, two Percheron artisans will be there, with Mélanie Guérincreator of the Craq en Perche biscuit brand, and Jean-Sébastien Valléesaddler in Rémalard.
Mélanie Guérin
Always passionate about gastronomy, Mélanie Guérin, based in Belforêt-en-Perche, travels the roads of Perche to discover the incredible products of the region. Wishing to promote all of this know-how, in 2022 she founded her brand of delicious and crunchy biscuits and granolas: “Craq en Perche”.
It offers authentic products while promoting local producers. In her workshop, Mélanie makes a point of respecting the traditions of artisanal biscuit making and favors a short, quality, readable list of ingredients, mostly of organic origin. Some recipes are vegan, others gluten-free or even reduced in sugar, she works with a naturopath.
She now has a dozen recipes for sweet or savory biscuits. Its credo: “to delight the taste buds while supporting the local economy. »
She will be present at stand 206 of the Village de l'Artisanat.
Jean-Sébastien Vallée
Jean-Sébastien Vallée began learning the trade of saddlemaker in a saddlery in the Basque Country specializing in high-end show jumping saddles before joining the Selle Hermès workshop in Paris where he worked for 18 years. In 2019, aware that the offer is limited in the field of outdoor and hiking saddlery, he opened his workshop specializing in tailor-made and adaptive saddles entirely manufactured in Normandy. It is today installed at the Docks Saint-Marc in Rémalard-en-Perche.
As close as possible to his customers, he travels throughout France to take horse/rider measurements in order to create a perfectly adapted saddle. The added value of Vallée saddles is based not only on quality inspired by the world of luxury but also on a unique tailor-made creation. It designs a complete range around the main equestrian disciplines.
The materials (leather, trees, buckles) are selected to meet safety and aesthetic requirements and are purchased mainly in France, then in Europe. He also develops, for the greatest pleasure of all, small leather goods. At the MIF Show, he will present his show jumping, hiking, endurance saddles and embroidery items. You will find him at stand 208 of the Craft Village.
