After the success last Saturday against Auch (107-95), the Elan Souémontain Montgaillardais Sarraziétois continues a second reception against the promoted Brissac-Aubance this Saturday (8 p.m.). To confirm and stay in the lead, ESMS will not be able to count on its strong winger, Eric Bosc, still struggling with his adductors despite his recovery against the Gersois.
Can you tell us about your journey until your arrival at ESMS?
I started basketball in U11 in Guadeloupe in the BTB 94 club. I then arrived in mainland France in 2009 and joined the Elan Tursan club in regional cadets for a season before leaving for Tarbes in cadets. France. I stayed there for several seasons, from 2010 to 2018, to continue my training course with Alex Casimeri, my mentor. I was able to progress from Nationale 3 to Nationale 1. I followed Alex to Charleville-Mézières in 2018 for a year before joining the Chartres club for two years. I returned to the Landes by joining Dax-Gamarde, still in NM1. I then had the opportunity to join Sébastien Lambert, with whom I had worked in Chartres, in Challans for a year. I then decided to come back to the Landes and joined the ESMS club last season.
After a great year last year, what do you hope for this season?
We had a good season which allowed us to compete in the Nationale 2 play-offs but also the final of the Coupe des Landes. I still have a taste of unfinished business after these defeats. For this season, the expectations are the same: to play at the top of the championship table and win this famous “Landes World Cup”!
How did your recovery against Auch go after your adductor injury?
I had very good feelings despite some small injury scares. I will ultimately have to take a few more weeks of rest before returning to 100% without discomfort or pain.
You won't be on the floor, but what do you expect from this match against Brissac-Aubance?
I hope we have a better defensive game than last weekend. In my opinion, achieving our goals depends on our defensive capabilities and we must secure home victories. I have every confidence in the team and the staff to perform on the pitch this Saturday evening.
