Pierre-André Durand, prefect of Haute-Garonne, therefore decided to exceptionally authorize the use of drones by the police from this Thursday, October 31 and for two days, in three municipalities in the department, all in zone police. The details.
Police will be able to “benefit from wide-angle vision” until Saturday
The authorization of use, in force since 3 p.m. this Thursday, runs until 5 a.m., Saturday November 2.
Security forces will thus be able to benefit from wide-angle vision, in order to be able to quickly identify and prevent the risks of disturbances to public order and attacks on the safety of people and property, while limiting the exposure of ground forces.
What is the authorization scope for drones?
The prefect's authorization is part of a restricted geographical scope straddling Toulouse, Colomiers and Tournefeuille, delimited by the following axes, these being included:
Municipality of Toulouse:
- Garonne River;
- A620 ;
- A624 ;
- Arc-en-Ciel Ring Road;
- Chemin de Tucaut;
- Saudrune Road;
- Boulevard de Thibaud;
- Avenue de Larrieu Thibaud;
- Avenue de Larrieu;
- Road to Spain;
- Impasse Palayre;
- Garonne river.
Municipality of Colomiers:
Municipality of Tournefeuille:
- Arc-en-Ciel Ring Road;
- Boulevard Vicent Auriol ;
- Road to Tarbes (Tournefeuille);
- Avenue du Maréchal Leclerc de Hauteclocque;
- Larramet Road;
- Tucaut Road.
Many products banned this weekend
On Wednesday, still with the idea of ”securing the party”, this same prefect had already announced a series of measures including transport bans dangerous products or purchasing fuel.
