Communicated. The Tour de France cyclist will pass through the Lot on July 11. The 12th stage between Aurillac and Villeneuve-sur-Lot will take the peloton on the roads of the Lot, from Sousceyrac to Montcabrier via Saint-Céré, Rocamadour, Gourdon… As during the previous passages of the Tour in the Lot (men in 2022 and women in 2023), Serge Rigal, President of the Lot Department, Christophe Proença, President of Lot Tourisme, Edith Lagarde and Frédéric Gineste, departmental advisors of Gourdon and Mireille Figeac, President of the Cazals-Salviac Community of Communes announced today that the Department will participate in the celebration by offering an event in partnership with the community of municipalities, open to all, on Saturday June 15, 2024 via a 38 km cycling loop on the roads of Bouriane to discover part of the Tour route. The map of the loop: https://lot.fr/sites/lot.fr/files/carte_departement.pdf It will leave from the Cazals lake towards Les Arques, Lavercantière, Dégagnac, Salviac for a return to Cazals. This event is aimed at everyone, occasional and seasoned cyclists alike, alone, with family or friends. Cyclists’ departures will be staggered: a first departure at 8:30 a.m. then the following ones will take place every half hour until 10 a.m. A friendly time is offered when cyclists arrive. Registration required: https://chrono-start.com/Inscription/Course/detail/c/3679 During the press conference, Serge Rigal also insisted on the fact that the Department was committed to the development of soft mobility: The construction of greenways in the Lot and Dordogne valleys continues. At the start of summer, the Cahors – Arcambal section will be under construction for delivery at the end of 2024/beginning of 2025. Very soon, the “Velot” plan will enter the operational phase. The Vélot Plan consists of identifying routes dedicated to soft mobility on already existing routes (departmental, intermunicipal or municipal roads) via a road sharing system.
