The facts date back to May 17. Around 6:45 a.m., a resident of an apartment located in the city center of Boulogne-Billancourt called the police. The reason ? A man rings his house to collect a sports bag, fell on this resident’s balcony. The individual in question shows himself very insistent, even threatening.
Alerted, the police quickly arrived at the home and discovered several weapons in the bag in question: “a 7.62 mm caliber Zastava assault rifle, equipped with its magazine, a Browning brand semi-automatic pistol, 9 mm caliber, also loaded, but also balaclavas, pairs of gloves, walkie-talkies, serflex type plastic links, two Police branded armbands and a rotating beacon”, list our colleagues from BFMTV.
The man, already known to the police, was arrested
Investigators quickly managed to identify a neighbor with a worrying profile. His name is Morgan C. and he lives just above the resident’s apartment. Aged around thirty, the man was arrested a few hours later and placed in police custody. He denies the accusations against him.
But he was indicted on charges of “unauthorized possession and acquisition of category A and B weapons”, “criminal conspiracy” and “aggravated money laundering”. “Placed in pre-trial detention at the Nanterre remand center”, this man already has a long criminal record. In fact, he has already been arrested for bank robberies.
What were these weapons used for?
Aged 16 at the time, he had been involved “in a series of four bank robberies and attempted bank robberies, at the end of November 2008, in the 17th arrondissement in Paris and in Levallois-Perret”, write our colleagues from BFMTV. The police are continuing their investigations to find possible accomplices.
The individual in question will be questioned by the courts. to know the misdeeds that have already been committed with these weapons or the projects for which they were to be used.
