A accidental fire declared Monday June 3, 2024 around 3:30 p.m. on a plug-in hybrid vehicle parked in one of the parking lots from the Department of Lot. It was about the professional car of the president of the Department, Serge Rigal, which was being recharged.

160 Lot Department agents and visitors evacuated

Following the triggering of the fire alarm, the entire building and the 160 agents and visitors who were present were evacuated calmly and in compliance with safety procedures relating to the evacuation of public buildings. No injuries were reported.


The Lot SDIS intervened within 10 minutes to extinguish the fire which totally destroyed the vehicle and caused superficial damage to the building.

The agents were able to return to their offices late in the afternoon to collect their personal belongings and return home. The carcass of the vehicle was evacuated at the end of the afternoon by a specialized company.

Lot Departmental Council services closed

Following this fire, the building’s electrical network was damaged. Consequently, reception of the public is not possible at the Hôtel du Département this Tuesday, June 4, 2024THE Regourd telephone lines are severely disrupted (prefer urgent calls and emails).

An electrical diagnosis will be carried out and its results will determine the reopening of the building to the public. The Department’s services are mobilized to allow a normal resumption of activity.
