As is commonly said, “bad luck” seems to have decided to upset the end of the season for Pradines Lot Basket seniors 1. After the injury to captain Kiara Mahobah last weekend, it was the turn of Clara Boissel, victim of a sprain in the middle of the week, to withdraw from the second leg of the semi-final against Vacquiers- Bouloc Basket.

Deprived therefore of Kiara Mahobah, Orlane Laballe, Clara Boissel, Cécile Lavinal, Magali Escaich, Elise Couderc, Lola Conéjéro (injured), Gladys De Castro and Louise Fourquet (professional reasons) and despite the return, after long months, of Gwenaëlle Galle after injury, the “Rouge et Noires” aimed above all to ensure their presence in the championship until the end, for pleasure, for the honor of the jersey and to fulfill their contract to the end.

The Vacquiers-Bouloc team, complete and without pressure, came to seek, in this meeting, the opportunity to prepare for its final counting for the title of Women’s Regional 2 Champions and worked in this direction, against locals who, without a master to play, looked for each other on the field and suffered from the opposing game, led at the break 13/40. At the restart, Lucie Prévot-Verdier, supported by Clarys Faugère and Raphaelle Valério, gave the signal for revolt and the PLB won the 3rd quarter (14/12). Vacquiers-Bouloc responded with his mid-distance skill (6 3-point baskets over the entire match) against the Coccinelles who had the merit of trying everything for everything, unfortunately without much success and a lack of rebounds offensive.

The logic was therefore respected. Congratulations to Vacquiers-Bouloc for her deserved qualification for the final, but it is a real shame that the Lotoises were not able to display a full team to fight on equal terms! A frustration offset by the great victory the day before for the U18 Occitanie in the return match against Tarbes, who will play the final for the title next weekend in Montauban. The next generation is coming, but we will still have to wait!
