Cahors. The Tour de France of schools with the FSU du Lot

The Tour de France des écoles organized by the FSU du Lot section went well under the sun.

A peloton of around twenty cyclists set off from Parnac (school closed in 2017) to reach the Valentré bridge in Cahors and reach the village of Le Montat in the evening.

The platoon was made up of striking teachers, sympathetic parents and grandparents, people belonging to the CCSEV collective (citizen collective for the protection of village schools) as well as reinforcements from neighboring sections of Cantal and Aveyron.

On arrival, a debate on rural schools (theme of today’s stage) was held on the steps of Le Montat town hall in the presence of the mayor.

The participants want a quality rural school with sufficient replacement resources, complete RASEDs for each zone (positions are vacant!), quality training for teachers, recruitment of teachers and not contract workers hired in a quarter chrono hour.

The results of rural schools are better than in large urban structures, this model must be preserved.

The participants also pointed out the fact that a local rural school providing public service to citizens was essential. This is all the more important with the problem of global warming. The day ended pleasantly with a tasting of wines from the Lycée des Territoires du Montat.

A successful operation which continued with the arrival on Wednesday May 29 in Paris with the submission of the book of solutions to the ministry.
