“The nightmare must end.” During the last session of the Departmental Council of Haute-Garonne, on October 15, the group of elected communist representatives submitted a wish on the private daycare scandal revealed by Victor Castanet in his latest book The Ogres.
Our children must not be merchandise for the benefit of private groups hungry for profit,” denounced the opposition elected officials.
Meal deprivation, humiliation and solitary confinement

Regardless of political differences, the assembly expressed itself unanimously to denounce such abuses, already made public in avril 2023 : “Today, four out of ten children cannot be looked after by professionals”, underlined the elected officials.
The Departmental Council of Haute-Garonne therefore requests that a parliamentary inquiry be carried out urgently on the scandals revealed, as well as the establishment of a “real” public policy for children and families.
