Black Swan is a new ballet whose world premiere will take place in at the 13e from October 29 to November 3, 2024, for 7 new performances. To the music of Tchaikovsky, spectators will discover the dancers of the Szeged Contemporary Dance Company on stage.

Black Swana new world creation, is a first in the world of ballet. To the music of the famous Tchaïkovskithe dancers of the Szeged Contemporary Dance Company, reinvent history beyond the famous ballet of Swan Lake. The ballet, choreographed by Tamás Juronicsis about to go on a world tour next.

Black Swan promises to show you the story behind Swan Lake that you would never have imagined! The protagonist, the schizophrenic Odettestruggles in one of these institutions with other patients. In her imagination, she is a swan queen. She attends balls, goes to palaces, goes back and forth between her past, her present and her future that will never come. The loneliness of the hospital room or the straitjacket cannot limit the wing of fantasy…

The ballet is performed by the world-famous Szeged Contemporary Dance Company, founded in 1993 in Hungary. A contemporary dance troupe renowned for its original creations which combine dance, theater and visual arts, it is under the direction of Tamás Juronics. The latter’s choreographies often explore philosophical and social themes, with an aesthetic marked by the search for movement and emotion.

The Hungarian dance company promises you more than a ballet: Black Swan should be an immersive experience that pushes the boundaries of artistic creativity. Their choreographer Tamás Juronics is freshly crowned with the prize KOSSUTH 2023 and winner of numerous international awards. A modern dance show not to be missed!
