After two crushing defeats, the Entente Sud Haute-Marne, which hosted, on Sunday October 20, at the Guy-Collin stadium, in Langres, Mulhouse, “red lantern” of the group, had no room for error.

The partners of captain Adrien Delblouwe, returning from injury, put the church back in the middle of the village by winning with the offensive bonus (46-15). A victory which took shape in the second half.

During the first forty minutes, the Entente Sud Haute-Marne was pragmatic. The Chaumonto-Langrois opened the scoring, in the 6′, with a penalty from Baptiste Couturier who did it again two minutes later (6-0, 8′).

Mulhouse appeared undisciplined at the start of the match. For its part, the Entente Sud Haute-Marne was imprecise when it came to testing. The Haut-Rhinois reduced the score in the 10th minute by converting a penalty (6-3, 10th minute).

The first half proved to be sluggish in the southern Haut-Marne ranks who nevertheless found their way to the goal through pillar Benjamin Roussel (13-3, 25′). A test which rewarded the efforts of the Entente.

Mulhouse was in the match and reduced the score at the worst possible moment by going to queen (13-10, 40′).

With only a three-point lead at half-time, victory was far from over. But the second act was one-sided. Still moving forward, the Entente Sud Haute-Marne stood firm. It took less than a minute for Firmin Roussel to score his team’s second try (20-10, 41′) in a very well constructed action.

The Sud Haut-Marnais outrageously dominated this second half and hit the nail on the head five minutes later, through Benjamin Roussel, who scored his second try (25-10, 45′). The Entente Sud Haute-Marne had their hands on the ball and Mulhouse was cornered in their camp. Hognat, Jérôme Lutz and Guillaume Virama Latchoumy once again brought down the Haut-Rhin defense (46-10). Victory could no longer escape Pierre Labrune’s partners who conceded an anecdotal try at the very end of the match.

As Jacques Rachet and Aurélien Vendeur, the two coaches, confided, the Entente was able to avoid the Mulhouse trap. “Our first period was very sluggish. We struggled to get into rhythm and we gave too many balls back to our opponent. In the second half, we managed to play forward. With this improved victory, the contract is fulfilled. We can leave on a positive note. We were able to raise our heads. »

The Chaumonto-Langrois have fifteen days to prepare for the move from Châlons.
