Canada will not leave completely empty-handed from the Track Cycling World Championships taking place in Denmark.
Ontarian Dylan Bibic won the bronze medal in the elimination race on Sunday. He was beaten by the Dane Tobias Hansen and the Italian Elia Viviani.
Last April, Bibic won the Nations Cup elimination race which took place in Milton, Ontario.
The 21-year-old cyclist participated in his first Olympic Games in Paris this summer where he finished 7th in the team pursuit and 19th in the Omnium.
This is the only medal for Canadian cyclists at these track worlds. However, note the 4th place in the women’s team pursuit of Ariane Bonhomme, Lily Plante, Kyara Lylyk and Fiona Majendi.
The Olympic medalists in Tokyo, Kelsey Mitchell and Lauriane Genest, skipped the worlds due to a very busy year.
