The sky was blue and the sea calm off Fécamp this Friday. The wind was just enough to turn the blades of the 71 giant wind turbines, which rise 260 meters high off the Normandy coast. Three delegated ministers had made the trip – Olga Givernet, for Energy, Fabrice Loher, in charge of Fisheries and the Sea, and Marie-Agnès Poussier-Winsback, for Social and Solidarity Economy and former mayor of Fécamp -, to visit this offshore park off the coast of the Normandy city. The 71 machines have a power of 500 megawatts (MW). Enough to ensure the electricity supply of around 800,000 people.
