(UPDATE Tuesday May 21 at 3 p.m.: The office of the mayor of the 3rd arrondissement confirmed in an official statement the resignation of Mayor Véronique Dubois Bertrand. “Today, I decided to leave my position as Mayor. I sent my resignation to Madam Prefect today. Personal reasons motivated this choice, accepted by the Mayor of Lyon, after several weeks of discussions and reflection. I will remain a municipal councilor and metropolitan councilor, and will be involved with the 3rd district team until the end of the mandate,” she wrote in a press release).

Towards a position of Culture Assistant?

The departure of the mayor of the 3rd arrondissement from her seat further fuels rumors about the replacement of Nathalie Perrin-Gilbert at Culture. The name of Audrey Hénocque, first deputy already in charge of major events, comes up insistently.

Véronique Dubois Bertrand has not yet spoken officially about her resignation. According to our information, she is currently abroad. The next municipal council meeting is scheduled to take place at the central town hall on May 30.
