The firefighters of Gard and Lozère are on alert for bad weather, with orange vigilance for the risk of rain, floods and storms. Four rivers, including the Gardon d’Alès and the Haut-Tarn in Lozère, are closely monitored

Colonel Thierry Carré, director of the Gard firefighters, takes stock from Nîmes: despite a relatively calm night with few interventions, the teams remain highly mobilized and the numbers have doubled since Tuesday. A helicopter is even available for interventions

The emergency services work closely with Météo and Vigicrues to monitor the evolution of the river and make appropriate decisions. However, residents’ caution is essential: they are reminded not to take unnecessary risks, particularly by crossing submersible bridges.

The Gard and Lozère fire teams have been on maximum alert for several days, with an increase in staff numbers and monitoring resources directly linked to Météo France forecasts. Numerous conference calls between the different services and the prefecture make it possible to coordinate interventions.

Prudence

Colonel Thierry Carré calls for the greatest caution, recalling the dramatic events of last March. Dangerous behavior observed on social networks, such as crossing submerged bridges.
