Valais State Councilor Frédéric Favre will not seek a third term in the cantonal executive in March 2025. The PLR ​​magistrate has been appointed director of the Switzerland 2038 Olympic and Paralympic Games association.

The choice of the head of the Department of Security, Institutions and Sport is “carefully considered and dictated by personal reasons”, he announced on Facebook on Wednesday.

In no case is weariness of his political function involved, specifies the PLR ​​magistrate. Frédéric Favre thanks the people of Valais for having placed their trust in him in 2017 and 2021. He will remain in office until April 30, 2025.

From May 1, Frédéric Favre will become director of the Switzerland 2038 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games association, communicates at the same time Swiss Olympic.
