Damart is committed this year alongside Viva for Life. The brand intends to break the taboo surrounding child poverty: in Wallonia and Brussels, one in four children lives below the poverty line, or 80,000 children whose health and future are in danger.
Jessie MievisCo-General Director at Damart Belgium: “ We want to act against child poverty in a way that suits us completely: by giving warmth. In the space of 90 days, we want to make the longest scarf in Belgium by assembling all the scarves received. Enough to offer a lot of warmth, literally and figuratively. »
Make one or more scarves (150 x 25 cm) and drop them off in your usual Damart store by December 14. Damart undertakes to donate 2 euros to Viva for Life per scarf collected. Then, all the scarves will be redistributed to children in need.
« The more scarves we collect, the higher the amount raised for children in need. So get out your needles, whether you’re a beginner or a knitting pro! Do you have leftover wool or needles that you no longer use? Drop them off at a Damart store. We will then be able to give them to people who love knitting and who want to help us make the longest scarf in Belgium. »
You can also make a free donation to Viva for Life in all Damart stores until mid-December. Starting October 7, participating stores will also host numerous events. Surf the site to find out more.
