A very special 40th edition for the Routes de l’Oise starting from Beauvais this Saturday

The Routes de l’Oise returns for its fortieth edition on May 18, 19 and 20, between Beauvais and Grandvilliers.

Created in 1983, the Oise roads will set off on Saturday May 18 for their fortieth edition. The last two meetings, the first after the break caused by the health crisis, took time to attract runners. So much so that the organizers had questioned the holding of the event.

But for this fortieth edition, as assured by the president of Routes de l’Oise Frédéric Lenormand, “This year, 182 runners mobilized in record time.”

20 teams, from Oise, Seine-Maritime, Nord, Eure-et-Loire, Val-d’Oise, Somme and Aisne are registered.

Nearly 295 km of racing on the roads of the Oise

The Routes de l’Oise will leave from Place Jeanne-Hachette in Beauvais this Saturday, May 18 around 3 p.m., towards Maignelay-Montigny. The runners will arrive there shortly before 6 p.m. after covering 99km.

The next day, the day will begin with a 13 km time trial in Feuquières departing from Place du Frayer between 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. In the afternoon, for the third stage, the runners will start at 3 p.m. from rue Albert 1er from Formerie to arrive, still in Formerie, after 91 km.

Finally, the last stage, Monday May 20, will connect Crèvecœur-le-Grand (departure at 9:30 a.m.) to Grandvilliers after 90.5 km.

Tributes to André Coët, former mayor of Crèvecœur-le-Grand

This edition will pay tribute to André Coët, former mayor of Crèvecœur-le-Grand between 2001 and 2020, and one of the founders of the event, who died on October 31, 2023 at the age of 73.

This fortieth edition of the Routes de l’Oise will be marked by the various tributes addressed to André Coët. The one who was one of the founders of the cycle race in 1983, as well as mayor of Crèvecœur-le-Grand between 2001 and 2020, is died October 31, 2023 :

In addition, as explained previously, the race will again pass through Crèvecœur-le-Grand. A wish of André Coët before his death. A thought will be sent to him before each departure, after each arrival, as well as during the results ceremony on Monday May 20, 3 p.m., at the Grandvilliers village hall.
