After taking advantage of VivaTech last year to announce their long-term partnership, the luxury group LVMH and the video game and software developer Epic Games have once again relied on the innovation show to discuss one of their projects currently being deployed at Fendi.

Fendi: 3D modeling for tailor-made products

A new three-dimensional tool for ultra-personalization. While it is welcoming its brand new CEO these days, Fendi, one of the Houses of the luxury giant LVMH, lifted the veil a few days ago on the nature of its collaboration with the American company Epic Games and the Parisian studio Monochrome, specialized in the production of video games and the creation of metaverse experiences.

Using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5 3D design solution, certain Fendi stores will soon offer their customers the possibility of accessing hyper realistic previewson screen, of tailor-made products: rendering of movement, zooming on colors and materials… This modeling and preview process should also focus on interactivity by allowing the customer, with the help of the sales teams, to make changes to the product in real time.

The idea? Optimize engagement and satisfaction of the consumer by involving them in the virtual creation process before launching production in the workshop. This experience could also help to further strengthen the links that unite the brand with hyperluxury customers, who are keen on ordering. ad hoc.

A new step in the LVMH / Epic Games partnership

Last year, the world number one luxury brand and the publisher formalized their collaboration with the aim of “transform the Group’s creative pipeline” in particular by allowing LVMH and its Maisons to build new experiences focused on 3D creation. Among the initiatives mentioned, virtual fittings and fashion shows, 360-degree product carousels, the creation of digital twins and even content using augmented reality.

Note that Epic Games, via Unreal Engine and MetaHuman technology, is at the origin of Livi, LVMH’s virtual spokesperson on subjects related to technological innovation.
